The resume is a contrivance with one specific reason: to succeed an interview. If it does what the whimsy resume did, it works. If it doesn’t, it isn’t an efficient resume. A resume is a personal ad, nothing new, nothing take away. A great resume doesn’t just tell them what you have done but creates the same declaration that all good advertisements do: If you buy this product, you will get these precisely, direct advantages. It offers you in the best light. It induces the employer that you have what it takes to be triumphant in this new position or profession.
